Monica Shepherd, founder of Mark My Words, is a copywriter and storyteller for purpose-driven brands. She’s all about creating connection, not just content – crafting words that inspire change and ignite thought. Monica works with ‘movers, shakers and change makers’ – socially-responsible and environmentally conscious brands, that are driven by purpose, not profit. They’re bold, brave and aren’t afraid to tell their story.
As a copywriter, Monica works with brand designers on the daily. Yet, she chose to engage Sketch Studio to redesign her business’ brand identity.

Grounded by a considered, custom-made typeface, the Mark My Words brand design is timeless and trustworthy. The capitalised wordmark logo feels professional and authoritative, while the distinctive use of purple brings creativity and personality, reflecting Monica’s creative talent and warm, human approach.
The organic, hand drawn lines that make up the Mark My Words icon symbolise Monica’s customers – movers, shakers and change makers. The movers and shakers are creating waves in their industries, while the change makers are shifting their direction.
Established in 2010, Mark My Words has earned a trusted reputation and industry-leading brand equity. Acknowledging this, we embraced Monica’s purple palette, balancing it with earthy tones for a natural, authentic feeling.
